Every supplement and vitamin on this page sits on the shelves at our shop on Camden Walk in Angel, Islington, where we have been an independent health shop since 2016. The range is what we have read the labels on ourselves, not everything a wholesaler will sell us.

What we mean by clean supplements

The rule has been the same from the start. Everything is free of nasties. No artificial colours, sweeteners or flavourings, no unnecessary bulking agents, and no fillers put in to make a capsule cheaper to produce. If the ingredients list has things on it we would not want to take ourselves, we do not stock it. A fair amount of what sells in the big chains does not get through that filter, which is why our shelves look different to theirs.

The brands we keep

Most of the range comes from Viridian, Terranova, Pure Encapsulations, Wild Nutrition, Nordic Naturals, KIKI Health, OptiBac Probiotics, BetterYou, Bio-Kult, Mushrooms 4 Life and Planet Paleo. These are the names our customers come back for, and they are the ones we are happiest explaining.

What people ask for most

Magnesium is the busiest shelf in the shop, magnesium glycinate especially, followed by vitamin D3 with K2, a daily multivitamin, omega 3, probiotics, collagen, ashwagandha and sea moss. There is a proper children's vitamins section, and a good run of women's supplements including prenatal, iron and menopause formulas.

Vegan, gluten free and food grown

A large part of the range is vegan and gluten free, and where a product is, the label says so plainly. We also keep food grown and whole food supplements from Wild Nutrition and Terranova for anyone who would rather take a nutrient in the form it comes in naturally.

Ask before you buy

We do not give medical advice and we will not tell you a supplement is a treatment for anything. What we can do is go through the labels with you and explain what is actually in the bottle. Ivana, who co-owns EpicZen, is a nutritionist, and either she or one of the team is usually in the shop.

Come and see us in Islington

Our supplement shop is at 1a Camden Walk, London N1 8DY, a minute from Angel station in Camden Passage. We are open Monday to Saturday, 10.30am to 6.30pm, and Sunday 11am to 5.30pm. You can order here and collect in store, usually ready in about 30 minutes, and UK delivery is free over £35.
